And there they are at the eastern terrace. They are a series of seated gods, facing out. They are built in eight layers and have all lost their head, and in many cases the shoulder part too. Intact they would measure 8-9 meters. At the left side used to sit a lion and an eagle, now destroyed. To their right a male god, in which elements of the gods Apollo-Mithras, Helios and Hermes seem to combine. Next to him the goddess Commagene, protectress of the state. She has a horn of plenty in her hand. In the middle Ahura Mazda, or Zeus-Oromasdes sits, bigger than the others. To his right king Antiochos. The next god (holding a club) is a mixture too, i.e. Heracles, Artagenes and Ares rolled into one. At the end of the row sit another eagle and lion. Under the feet of the seated gods panels would be visible dexiosis-scenes (two people shaking hands, a usual scene in Greek grave monuments). Other reliefs would be found on the north and south side of the central hill.
