I have found before that the bus ride from Kars to Artvin and then on to the coast is beautiful. You gradually descend from a high plain towards the coast, with a river on one side of the bus or the other for most of the time. The rock formations at some points are fantastic. The pictures are in chronological order, some have been edited for electricity cables or such.

Note that all these pictures were taken from a bus at a good speed, on a sometimes bumpy road. So there may be some motion blur.

These are works in preparation for an artificial lake and a white elecricity central near Artvin.

For the rest of the road the rain was too bad.
