This is a statue for Demirel, with in the background the Kutlubey (Ulu) Camii.

Apart from being Turkey’s Prime Minister for 10 years and 5 months (7 times between 1965 and 1993), Süleyman Demirel also became the Republic’s ninth president (from 1993 to 2000). He was born in Islamköy, a large village in the Atabey district, 20 km northeast of Isparta.
