This is a Harran dwelling. Note the steeply domed houses (it keeps the air inside cool), and the metal structures, that can be used to sleep on when the nights are hot. My travel guide has it that the houses are of a design dating from the 3rd century BC. I have seen similar constructions in Southern Italy and they seem to exist in northern Syria, which would fit, because Syria is next door to Harran.
