This is the clock tower, not far from the Osman türbe in a small park with on one side fine views over part of the city. Many cities have clock towers, and they are very proud of them. Some of them are, particularly if you compare them with Christian church towers, ridiculously small, but I suppose they refer to a sense of innovation and modernity that reigned in the late 19th century Turkey..
Built in 1904-1905, in a neolassical European (neoclassical) oriented style.
It has five floors and is 33 m high.. The clock itself is a device working on gravity.
At the beginning of the 20th century many clock towers were built throughout the Ottoman Empire, as a result of the decree which was sent to the provincial governors to commemorate the 25th anniversary (in 1901) of Sultan Abdülhamid II's ascension to the Ottoman throne.
