This is about the spot where the modern Kütahya changes rather abruptly into the old. You see the minaret of the Great Mosque, and the adjacent archeological museum. It used to house the "cini" (type of earthenware) collection also, but that moved to another renovated building near the Great Mosque. All three are well worth a visit. The roads from here on lead to warrens of old houses, many of them built on the hill which has the Kale (fortress) on top.
