Here, in a Hürriyet article, we see the church ranked amongst the ten most beautiful churches in the country. The text states the city is the second centre for Christians (I suppose: in Turkey), as the Christians were first mentioned here, and the apostles Paul and Petrus (who gave the church its name) were here for a while.
