Bath mosaic
From a bathhouse that was destroyed in an earthquake and rebuilt in the fourth century AD this is a mosaic, one of some in very poor condition. It was originally one of floor mosaics in an octagonal pool in the middle of a frigidarium (cold hall). It is the only intact one of a set of triangular panels radiating out. It shows an amphoriskos (pitcher with two handles) and a double axe (Carian axe), all against a dark background. A wave panel surrounds the panel.
