On Taksim Square, just before Istiklal Caddesi starts, and so before the French Embassy, there is a curious elongated building. It is used for exhibitions.
To me the building itself was of interest: it turned out to be a large scale water storage. On one picture you see the consecutive spaces that once held lots of water. At one end stood a six-sided building with a fountain, I take it that was where part of the water was dispensed.
In 2017 there was an exhibition of caligraphic arts. This work is called Lale Gül, by Özlen Gören.
