In Vodina Caddesi I have often seen a large terrain, walled in, that intrigued me. This time a door stood ajar, and people nearby suggested I’d enter. Inside I found a big wild garden, and a large church (the Metroloji Filistin Ortodoks Kilisesi), as well as a guardsman, who showed me the terrain. The church was closed, it seems to belong to a congregation with roots in Jerusalem.
On the web I could only find addresses, which all mention Balat as the district. I never quite know where Fener ends and Balat starts.
