In 2014 I took many pictures of the restored arches and columns of the building through which one enters the courtyard of the mosque. Roman building elements were mixed with Islamic writing, the result is most impressive.

To the right of the central arch there is an ornament of what seems to be a lion. I took pictures from several sides.
