Eight other sarcophagi surround the royal catafalque of Çelebi Sultan Mehmet I. First you have those of three of his 18 (!) sons: the princes Mustafa, Mahmud and Yusuf. The first died in 1422 (one year after his father); the other two died of the bubonic plague in 1429.
On the second row, four of his nine daughters: Selçuk Hatun (the sarcophagus with the inscriptions), Sitti Hatun, Hafza Sultan and Ayşe Hatun.
The last sarcophagus belongs to Daya Hatun, who had been the sultan’s wet nurse.
