Part of a frieze where Priamos (Priam), king of Troy, begs Achilles for the remains of his killed son Hector.
Hector was Priam's eldest son by Hecuba, and heir to the Trojan throne. He was killed by Achilles in a fight at Troy. Achilles maltreated his corpse in many ways, but after some divine intervention and much pleading Priam is allowed to give it proper rites.
