New 2014 picture with detail
This “charger with foliate rim” is from 1480 (the museum gives 1490 in the display), 43 cm. in diameter. It’s style is called “Baba Nakkaş”.
It parallels early 15th-century Chinese dish. That is, the back-side has a Chinese peony scroll, the inside is entirely Ottoman with arabesque scrollwork on the rim and in the center, a “lozenge panels” in the cavetto. Text from “Iznik”; by Atasoy and Raby, Alexandria Press, London.
