The Battle of Dandanakan, lasting from 22 till 24th of May in 1040, which was fought between the army of the Seljuks under Toğrul and his brother Çağrı and that of the Ghaznavid Empire under Sultan Masud, bringing down the latter. It was a first step towards the conquest of Anatolia by the Seljuks.
