The Provincial Directorate of National Education is housed in a stone building, that dates from the early years of the Turkish Republic. The wooden structure above the entrance is a ‘köşk odası’ (= kiosk room), similar to those on top of some late-Ottoman houses; in summer, their high position grant them an optimal ventilation, making even the hottest day heavenly. If the architectural planning has provided it with a chimney and a fireplace (as is obviously the case here) such a ‘summer room’ becomes a ‘room for all seasons’, and probably the most pleasant room of the whole facility.
