The State Agora had a more ceremonial character than the agora used for slave trade. At the eastern side stands a so called emperors’ hall, as 20 copies of Greek statues were found here, amongst them Antoninus Pius. This is related to the fact that the town received the status of Neokoros, a city of imperial cult. What you see is essentially a wall with niches and some decoration, but one should realize this was a hall with a ceiling, the wall being its eastern side. The agora had a building at its centre, its purpose is unknown.
