R. Tahir Burak (1903-1977). Ergenekon 1. This refers to another painting by the same painter, Ergenekon 2. This term is complicated in its history and usage by the Turks. In the Wikipedia one can read (apart from much else on the subject, find for yourself) “In 1933, Şevket Süreyya Aydemir, a Turkish intellectual and one of the founders and a key theorist of Kadro movement, used Ergenekon epic to consubstantiate with the Turkish revolution.” I think it is with this type of usage in mind the painter created his two works.

Both works hung high on a wall but I think I corrected the perspective reasonably well.
