Konya Pir Mehmet Pasha Mosque 2768.jpg

view map

The Pir Mehmet Pasha Mosque, from 1523.
Translated from a newspaper article I add: "Piri Mehmet Pasha, one of the viziers of Yavuz Sultan Selim and Suleiman the Magnificent, built this mosque in Konya Piripaşa District in 1523.
The mosque was built in the style of classical Ottoman architecture. It has a square plan and is covered with a dome. To the east of the mosque there is a three-domed narthex. The entrance door from the last congregation place to the place of worship is decorated with marble jambs. The mihrab of the mosque was painted and lost its characteristics. The minaret next to it is made of round bricks on a stone base and has a single balcony.
Adjacent to the mosque is the tomb of Sheikh Siyavuş. No trace has survived from the Piri Pasha Madrasah to the east."
