The Ismet Paşa Ilk Öğretim Okulu (Ismet Paşa Elementary School) seen from the backside, where the large playground is. This is a prototype of elementary school building, designed in the Ottoman revivalist ‘national style’ of the 1920s (it opened in 1927). It took the name of Ismet Paşa (Ismet Inönü, the second president of the Turkish republic) some years later. Its almost exact copy stands in Yozgat, 300 km away, to the northeast.
