The porch of the Nazlı Defterdar Mahmut Efendi Mosque, built by Mimar Sinan in 1542. Is is a very early (and small) work of the great architect. The commissionar Mahmut Efendi was a ‘defterdar’ (= top official in charge of the state finances). The building was restored in 1766 and 1971; it is located in the Eyüp district.
