This is the first of a series of pictures I took on another walk, I am heading downhill whereas the previous series started uphill, to the south.

In Amsterdam, where I live, herons have become so tame they will be found waiting in front of some houses where they know people will feed them. I myself feed the gulls from my kitchen window, but that's four floors up. I had not seen a gull on street level like this before, obviously waiting until the proverbial "old lady" throws outs the goodies.
