built in 1567 for Köse (Koca) Hüsrev Paşa, Beylerbeyi (Ottoman governor) at the time. The name of the architect is uncertain, but mostly the great Mimar Sinan is cited. The mosque is also named ‘Hüsreviye Cami’ or ‘Kurşunlu Cami’ = Mosque with the lead (roof).
On the "Sinan matter" I quote from that site: "Tuhfet ül-Mimarin, one of the sources about the life and works of Sinan the Architect states that the Husrev Pasha Mosque was built by Sinan. However, it is more probable that this mosque, like others in distant parts of the country such as Erzurum andsin Damascus which have been attributed to Sinan were in fact built by architects either appointed or approved by Sinan."
