On one more rainy March 2006 day I started out for the Pera Museum, in the Pera district, across the Golden Horn from the old city in the south. This district has many fine and impressive buildings, many of them offices, in an international style from the early 20th century. I will probably return on a better day, for these are a bit bleak. I show them mainly without comments, because I didn't take notes and I think people who know a bit about the history of architecture will recognize the styles.

İSTANBUL PERA YÜRÜYÜŞÜ

Mart 2006’da yağmurlu bir günde, Pera bölgesindeki Pera Müzesi’nden başlayarak, güneyde şehrin eski bir bölgesindeki Haliç’e doğru yola çıktım. Bu bölgede, 20. yüzyılın başlarında uluslararası bir tarzda yapılmış pekçok hoş ve etkileyici bina var, bunların çoğu ofis. Resimler çok hoş olmadığından, daha iyi bir günde oraya yeniden gidebilirim. Resimlerin altına açıklama eklemedim, çünkü not almamıştım ve sanırım bir parça mimarlık tarihi bilen insanlar tarzları farkedeceklerdir.
