The Mut tourist guide tells us that the Alahan (Apadnos) monastery is on the road from Mut to Karaman, about 20 kilometers from Mut (and another 3 from the main road). It was built on a rocky side of the Taurus Mountains at about 1200 meters. There are three churches, the complex is thought to have been built in 440-442. Christian symbols such as fish and grapes and representations of several saints abound.
I visited the complex thanks to the Mersin photography club that gave me a ride from Mut and back again. Most pictures will give the impression I was alone there, a few others indicate I was not at all. In a very few pictures I took the liberty of editing a person out (hiding him or her behind rocks or shrubbery).
I show many pictures because I am aware that for some specialists it is important to see the site from as many sides as possible.
