In September 2012 I paid another visit to the Akdamar church. I knew it had been restored and wanted to see if I could make more and better pictures than many years before. I think I did, at least for the “more” part. A group was being informed by a guide outside, and no one entered for quite a while, which enabled me to take many pictures of the interior with its fresco’s. I show them in this “interior” gallery. I intend to organize them later to some extent, after I have edited the exterior pictures also. Not being able to read Armenian and being rather nonplussed about many of the representations I invite anyone who makes sense of them to write a comment. I will use them in captions later.
