In this gallery, a selection of pictures from an eleven days long bird trip to Kuwait is presented. The end of February is not the best time to visit the country for birding, but I still managed to see almost all the birds that I was looking for.
Highlights of the trip have been: Mcqueen's Bustard, Lesser, Greater and Steppe Eagle, Shikra, Purple Swaphen, Crab-Plover, Greater and Lesser Sand Plover, Terek Sandpiper, Broad-billed Sandpiper, the long-awaited Great Black-headed Gull in full glory, Namaqua Dove, Dunn's Lark, Black-crowned Sparrow-Lark, japonicus Buff-bellied Pipit, Hypocolius, 'vittata' morph of Pied Wheatear, Red-tailed Wheatear, three subspecies of Siberian Stonechat, Asian Desert and Ménétries's Warbler, Clamorous Reed Warbler, five species of shrikes, Red-vented and White-cheecked Bulbul, Bank and Common Myna, Afghan Babbler, and Ruppell's Weaver, plus a selction of some resident, wintering and migratory birds. At the end, I only missed Indian Roller from the list of the most wanted species ... All in all, a very good trip with lots of interesting birds, even if I am not very satisfied from a photographic point of view ...
