Finland May-June 2008

That presented here is a short gallery on my third trip to Finland (after those on 1991 and 2005). It has been an eleven-days birding trip rather than a photographic one, aimed to find - and, if possible, to photograph - some species that I missed during my previous trips on Scandinavia. While it has been a successful trip from a "twitcher" point of view, the same I cannot say about photography, because I did not manage to take pictures of all the "wanted" species ...

Dani, the gallery you presented here is a great source for those who think bird photography a life-time passion. You are showing us all how nicely bird photography is dependent on the knowledge of the birds, their habitat and behavior. Birding is a must for serious bird photographers. It is quite visible that you are a very good bird-watcher and became one of the leader European bird photographer.

Thanks for sharing all those excellent images. Wish to work with you one day on the field or at the desk. :)

Your positioning in relation to the bird & the incident light is consistently spot-on.

If you made a short DVD-film of your fieldcraft, technique & digital workflow I'm sure you would earn a small fortune. :-) ........put me down for 20 copies!!!!
