Passeig de Grącia is in a modern part of Barcelona. One street of it is called the, "Block of Discord," with disparate houses, built when the Modernista movement was in full swing (early 1900's). The houses were designed by proponents of the movement. The building with the cross is Casa Batlió, designed by Antoni Gaudķ. The building to the left of Casa Batlió with the triangular facade is Casa Amatler, designed by Puig i Cadafalch. The tower on the left is the top of Casa Lleó Morera, designed by Domčnech i Montaner.
