Chichester
Chichester originated as a Roman town. Became Saxon in 6th century (named after Saxon called Cissa).
Chichester was a market town (12th century) with lots of craftsmen. This is the 16th century Market Cross in the center of town.
Chichester Cathedral (from the 12th century): Built of greenish limestone and Caen stone.
Chichester Cathedral under renovation: Has the only English cathedral spire visible from the sea
Chichester Cathedral interior: The Lady Chapel - gloomy but spiritually powerful ambience
Fishbourne Roman Palace: Boy On A Dolphin mosaic floor. The palace has the best collection of Roman mosaics in England.
