Many of these highly deserving perennial favourites
are my favourites as well.
Throughout these galleries one encounters
great technique, atmosphere, spiritual presence
and an underlying deep love for photography and art.
Voted as always (even if I forget to say "V")
Hi Donald, I'm so glad you visited my gallery and led me to these treasures. You live in a great area for pictures and I'm looking forward to my vacation to that area in about three weeks. The 4500 Nikon serves you well, it's a great camera. Regards.
These are really favorites, Don, I enjoyed this gallery soooo sooo much! Voted.

Great gallery Donald, my compliments :)
It's an astonishing collection. The most special scenes for me are the sunsets and the snow ones, because in my country there aren´t winters. All time the weather is warm nad hot and beuty but it's goos to know the differences.
Excuse me for my porr English. Bye
What can I say more then that?...It was a pleasure to see this gallery!

Thanks Chris for all your comments! i love your son and dad christmas tree- it is a wonderful shot and thank you for sending me to Phil's work... i will enjoy exploring. also you are the first person to ever make a message GRAPHICALLY which i really think is way cool! i hope i eventurally learn the computer skills to do the same thing. Take care and visit often, best, don
In my opinion, your shots of the misty lake are by far your best work. Regarding your other photos, you have a great ability to use color to enhance the mood and composition that I can only achieve by accident once and a while. Your pictures are all very pleasing, but ultimately for me, not terribly interesting for any length of time. A great majority of your pictures lack any sort of human emotion or connection besides perhaps, "this is a pleasant scene." Now, I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination, but let me see if I can illustrate my point. Here's one of your favorites:
Yes it's a very nice Christmas tree, but it's a completely dead scene. I took a photo in New York City last year:
Now initally I was drawn to the enormous Christmas tree and in the first round of photos, I deliberately composed to avoid all of the people. Those pictures sucked. Besides being a nice Christmas tree, there was no reason to keep looking at the photo. I climbed up onto a shrubbery in a concrete pot and looked around. Before long, I saw this father with a kid on his shoulder and thought it would make a very interesting story and this time I only included enough of the tree for context. This is an example of very deliberate and careful composition, and something that I only accomplish sucessfully every once and a while. I'd encourage you to check out all of Phil Douglas's galleries. He's a huge inspiration to me and I've learned a lot from his very through galleries and comments.
I hope you find this helpful and not in any way demeaning or overly critical.
All the best,
Good A.M. Don, Wow! It is amazing how one takes for granted the beauty that surrounds them. I live amongest so many of your images and you have shown me and helped me realize how lucky I am to live in such a serene and beautiful part of the country. Your example is teaching me to stop, open my eyes and enjoy this gorgeous place we live. Thank you Don for your gift. And by the way, you have captured Chloe's personality, which has not been easy to do. :) Sandy
It's art! Doesn't matter now which one camera or software do you use - just the God can give you a talent! Good vision, actually, right vision - and you're won!
Thank you, I have a fun when see you're pictures!

really good one ....
really its an excelent collection......
really enjoyed the view , nice n beautiful.
quite nice gallery!!!
Thank you for sharing these pictures and in different iso. Most of the pictures are excellent and I compared the noise with the pictures from my cp4500. I came to the conclusion that it was very little noise in iso 50 and on the other isos it was ca the same as the 4500 per cm2. Nothing that Neat Image can't handle. I think this is the camera I wan't to have next.
The pictures are very good not only because of the camera. The man behind the camera seems to know what it is all about.
regards from Pierre
