Nice shot. A Dial Gage is an instrument used to measure very small distances. Usually down to one thousandths of an inch. That's about the size of a human hair. Dial gages or used in many industries but they are very abundant in the machining industry. Where they make very pricision parts. The working parts of a Dial Gage would, indeed, be much like a watch.

yes, waltham mass... image shot in stow mass near little airport i wonder if it refers to automatic chicken feeding devices... i know waltham was famous for clocks... anyone know any more than this???? WHAT IS A DIAL CAGE???? and the waltham dial cage co???
