I got to see the St. Michael's College women's hockey team take on Manhattanville in December of '09 ... The Purple Knights battled a strong opponent to a scoreless tie through the first period, fell behind 1-0 before bouncing right back to tie it, and continued to battle through a tight game into the 3rd, when Manhattanville finally broke away for the win.

I weasled my way to the press box to take photos, as I wanted the best seat in the house to photograph two of Kater's SMC softball teammates in action -- 18 Meg and 17 Kelly. Like they do on the diamond, these two play HARD! Plus, there is NO quit in this hockey team, so they are fun to watch.

Hockey lighting is horrible, so a high ISO means grain and a slow shutterspeed means blur, but for what they are worth, here are some shots from the game -- Meg, Kelly, the goalie, my friend Lou's daughter Molly, and a new friend's daughter Allison ... Enjoy!
