SMC opened Fall Ball with a 9-inning twilight scrimmage vs the University of Vermont. The Catamounts were a bit sharper than the young Knights and took the win, but there were some flashes of promise for the Purple Knights, so it was a very successful scrimmage. Scary moment early on when Katelyn took a fierce line drive off her jaw on the mound -- but her mouthguard was in and she stayed in the game ...Tough sun field at that time of the afternoon, so the lighting was a challenge ... 1st time out means a higher % of Katelyn pics than normal and I think I might have missed a couple players (sorry - I'll get a roster for ECAC) ...
