St. Mike's hosted Southern New Hampshire on a beautiful afternoon for ball -- and came up short on two one-run games, falling 2-1 and 5-4 to the Penmen. MegO pitched a complete game in the opener, but the Purple Knights couldn't scramble back from the 2-1 deficit. SNHU had a big first inning in game two, but SMC settled and rallied late, but came up just short. MegO had two hits in each game. Katelyn, hobbled with a sprained ankle, had a busy day in Centerfield and came away with a single and a sacrifice bunt at the plate. St. Mikes is now 7-16.SNHU is home to Vermont Rocket graduate MegR of Enosburg, Vermont. MegR started game one in Rightfield, nearly throwing out Katelyn at 1st on her line drive single -- THAT would NOT have been popular in Camp Billings :-) -- and came off the bench to play the second half of game two. It was great to see #13 in action and great to share the sidelines with her folks. Naturally, there are some MegR photos stirred into tonight's collection ...
