While Pitching Clinic pauses for the Holiday, hockey doesn't -- allowing us to pop up to Highgate Arena and see Dakota (one of Kater's pitching proteges) in action on the ice. Got to see a great game as Dakota's MAHA and (our local) SASA U-14 teams skated to a 4-4 tie. As you'd expect from watching her on the diamond, Dakota's a hard worker on the ice and not afraid to mix it up with bigger players. Neat thing is, Dakota earned election as a co-captain of her team this year, despite being only in her second year of hockey -- congrats on that honor, Dodge ... :-)

The blur of shooting action at 1/80th of a second due to weak arena lighting was exacerbated by shooting through the glass -- and having fog on the glass as well. Egad, not ideal shooting conditions, but still, fun to take. Next time, I get to sit in the penalty box and shoot unobstructed!!
