Emmer got to make an unexpected encore appearance in the final Fairfield game of the year (Rocket practice was cancelled) -- and what a game it proved to be.
Fairfield battled back from down 12-6 or so -- with pushing across 8 runs in the top of the 7th as Em delivered a huge 2-out single ... Richford fought back to tie it ... but Fairfield stole a run in the 8th and Callie put the hammer down in the bottom of the 8th as Emmer squeezed strike three to end the game. Meg pitched well to open the game -- and Callie was strong in closing. Emmer did very well behind the plate and every bat contributed.
GREAT GAME GIRLS!! Nice season, coaches! And then dinner/creemies together as familes at the Pine Cone afterwards -- it doesn't get much better!
