I've long wished the City of St. Albans would facilitate the donation of two abandonned houses on Federal Street to "Habitat For Humanity" ... and more recently "While You Were Out", "Flip That House" or better yet, "Exteme Makeover: Home Edition" ... so they could be rehabb'ed for families -- as affordable housing is a big need locally.

With the development of The Breakyard, a new gas station across from them and the old Clarence Brown station in the Railroad's neighborhood, I had a surge of hope for a renaisance on Federal Street ... but as I walked around to see the possibilities, I saw how much yardwork needed to be done nearby to make it safe for kids to live in those houses.

Dang ... This might be too much even for Ty Pennington!
