Stephanie, one of my former "summer Oranges" who became a star catcher at MVU and a memorable adversary at the winter pitching clinics, has thrived in her four year varsity college softball career at Castleton State College. Thanks to earlier rainouts messing with their schedule and an injury that kept me from a scheduled run, I was able to clear my work calendar and attend her Senior Day game -- a big win over Johnson State College that moved Steph's team closer to the playoffs. Steph is such a delight -- such a great work ethic, an engaging way with people, strong fundamentals and knowledge of the game, and a wonderful family. It has been a pleasure and honor to root for her since she was young. Go get 'em, Steph! All the best in all that's next ... As a bonus, I got to see Swanton's Katie Gagne and Fairfax's Ruby Bushey play for Castleton -- capturing photos of them as well as Steph's pitcher Kayla Wood and Steph's fellow Senior, secondbaseman Kayla Daigle.
