We came away with an aerial tour of Northwestern Vermont from a Franklin Grand Isle United Way charity auction -- and scheduled our flight for early October of 2011. We took off from a private landing strip near Hog Island in Swanton VT, flew south along the Maquam Shore of Lake Champlain, toured St. Albans to get an aerial photo of our house and the hospital, and then headed northeast to circle Jay Peak. The Fall morning was crisp with a bit of a breeze, bright blue skies above us, no clouds aside us, a bit of fog left in the valleys, and Fall Foliage beneath us. Air hostess Terri was delightful (though she stayed on the ground), Pilot Kevin was great, and it was simply a grand lark to be buzz about in the wild blue yonder. Naturally, I took some pictures.
