Wild River runs wild

best viewed at original size

The (usually) tiny stream that flows through town after 135 mm (5.4 inches) of rain in 48 hours.
The next image shows a more usual flow. The location is exactly the same except I couldn't walk the last 5 metres or so (this photo) for obvious reasons.

other sizes: small medium large original auto

I see that I've commented before, but not when viewing this with its calm counterpart image that is next in the sequence. It answers my question.

A great capture. Was this a flash flood, or had the volume of water increased with the downfall?

A wild, rowdy, rushing torrent! So much rain all at once! Wouldn't know it was the same river as before.
