Resurrection Plant (Borya septentrionalis)

best viewed at original size

The foliage of this species shrivels in the dry season (left) but the leaves don’t die; they re-green when the rains return (right).
This ability enables Resurrection Plant to grow in shallow layers of soil over impermeable sheets of rock, and that is indeed where it is to be found.
