Lemon-scented Gums (Corymbia citriodora)

January, and they’ve nearly completed the annual peeling off of old bark.

Wonderful scented and lemon too! The bark shedding must be essential. A fine shot. V

Beautifully subtle pastel color variations of the three trunks. I'm sure the shed bark serves an important function under the trees.

I'm with Yvonne - we have several Sycamore Trees (must be related to this gum tree) and my wife is constantly at me to cut them down - - the birds love the trees, so I've totally ignored her

A very nice image, Don!! I find this peeling of the bark a very unusual thing...

...and what a big mess they make when they do. We have 3 across the back of our house
and the bark peels every time we have rain, or it seems to be every time. Fine shot Don.
