Banana Fig (Ficus pleurocarpa)

The banana-shaped and –coloured figs are 4 to 6 cm long.
The pointed pink-orange shoot is a leaf that is yet to expand.
The seeds of Banana Fig often germinate on another tree rather than on the ground, developing at first as an epiphyte then strangling their host upon taking root in the ground.
Banana Fig occurs only in the Wet Tropics region of north-east Queensland.

Great info in this image and words! Is it he same type of tree as a strangler fig in an image from lama lama land? Fruit and new leaf at the same time - this plant is busy! Lovely light.
