Noisy Pitta

This (normally) secretive denizen of the floor of rainforests in tropical and sub-tropical eastern Australia is more often heard than seen, its distinctive “walk to work” call giving their presence away.
I got lucky here at this remote rainforest campsite; I think this guy must be used to having people around.

I am so jealous of this one. I have only ever seen one and that was in the Dorrigo forest nsw. saw but too dark for photos you are lucky to see this one can you share his home site. coming up to the tablelands in may
