Pied Currawong

The loud, ringing calls of the Pied Currawong area a feature of the forests of eastern Australia.
These are versatile birds, equally at home hunting reptiles, raiding nests, catching larger insects or eating fruit.
Currawongs are members of the Australasian family that includes butcherbirds and Australian magpies but also the superficially-dissimilar woodswallows.

Nice shot, I think I have seen them foraging on road kills in Tasmania.

Nice capture Don; that bill looks like it could do some damage; the yellow eye looks like some of our blackbirds, but ours don't have the white coverts
