I first met Pam Dorion in 1971 or 1972 when we both worked part-time at Sears in the Northside Shopping Center at NW 27th Avenue and 79th Street. I always enjoyed talking with her because of her humorous upbeat attitude toward work, life and love, and I thought she was very mature for being six years younger than me. She told me about her boyfriend, Rob Greene, serving in the U. S. Army in Viet Nam and when he got home after his enlistment was up. She told me about him about to start work with United Airlines at Miami International Airport in a part-time seasonal position. I applied for a position too and both of us were hired. Rob and I soon became buddies while working at United and my wife at the time and I socialized with Rob and Pam before they moved to Houston, Texas.
Pam was born in Ayer, Massachusetts in 1953 but was raised in Miami, Florida. She graduated from Miami Carol City High School in 1971, where she was head clarinetist with the marching band and a member of Honoria. After Pam and Rob moved to Houston, she attended Texas Chiropractic College in Pasadena, Texas. Pam graduated in the top ten percent of her class in 1980 and she moved to Lakeland, Florida. She became the first female chiropractor in Lakeland, Florida in 1981.
Pam was a breast cancer survivor from age 22 to age 54 when she passed away on October 21, 2007.
