Most folks don't believe me when I tell them that Miami Beach had ordinances requiring women to wear bathrobes when leaving the beach and walking to their cars. They had also outlawed bikinis when they first came out, and I saw a woman arrested at 71st street beach in the late 40's for no other reason than wearing a bikini. She was excorted off the beach by two police officers. That's hard to believe now, when one considers that anything goes on South Beach.
