My mom bought me some of these when I was about 4 or 5 in the early 1960s. Then there was a time when no one would be sen in them. But they came back into style in the early 70s when I was in high school.
I wore these shoes in the early 50's in Olean, New York. We bought them at Brown's Boot Shop and immediately got them dirty before our "buddies "stepped all over them for us. Even wore them to the senior prom.

Never had a pair and never wanted a pair in Florida in the 50's. We all preferred penny loafers with bobby-socks or low cut ballerinas.
