1940's - Harold Hubbard working the counter at Hubbard's Kubbard

Hialeah Drive and E. 1st Avenue, Hialeah, Florida

Thank you to Linda Adleman Bolinger for supplying this great old image of her grandfather Harold Hubbard at the popular Hubbard's Kubbard in Hialeah which was on Hialeah Drive and East 1st Avenue. Across Hialeah Drive was Mr. McGee's Sinclair gas station. Linda says that when her mother Jean met her father Pete Adleman in 1937, her grandfather Harold owned the corner across 1st Avenue and he built an outdoor bowling alley with six lanes. He later sold the property for the Hialeah-Miami Springs Bank.

Linda says that the large black clock in the background is still in use at her mother's home and has never needed repair.

other sizes: small medium original auto
